Patrick Grant | Thursday 22 May

Director and Author | Community Clothing

Patrick Grant is an outspoken advocate for change in the fashion industry for moving beyond sustainable to circular and regenerative. His clothes brand Community Clothing supports local clothing and textile manufacturers across the UK. Across nearly two decades of experience, he rebuilt the Savile Row tailor Norton & Sons, relaunched E. Tautz (for which he won Menswear Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards) and has collaborated with world-famous brands like Barbour and Cartier. In 2015, Patrick saved the Blackburn factory Cookson & Clegg from closure, making him consider how to secure the future of UK garment makers and of the communities those businesses support. Well-known for his role on BBC’s The Great British Sewing Bee, Patrick has penned his own book Original Man and has written for many prestigious publications such as The Times and GQ. Holding a degree in Materials Science and an MBA, Patrick has an honorary Doctorate and Fellowships from many other institutions. He is also an ambassador for The King’s Foundation, supporting educational initiatives across the UK.

Specialist Colour Consultant and Founder | Studio Justine Fox

Justine Fox is the Founder of Studio Justine Fox, a specialist colour consultancy that uses unique psychological and commercial insights to maximise the power of colour. She’s an expert in applied colour psychology, colour insights and colour ergonomics. She works with artists, brands, and built environment practitioners on bespoke initiatives, including research and development, experience installations, community engagement, workshops, and publications. Justine is a two-time FRAME Awards and Mixology North judge who regularly speaks on radio and at private and trade events. She is also an editorial contributor to FRAME, Mix Interiors, Design Anthology and Surface Design Show. Justine is frequently asked for comment from online publications such as BBC Futures and Bloomberg.

Founder and Director | Making Design Circular

Katie Treggiden is the Founder and Director of Making Design Circular – an international membership community and online learning platform for environmentally conscious designers, makers, artists, and craftspeople. She is also an author, journalist and podcaster championing a hopeful approach to environmentalism. With more than 20 years of experience in the creative industries, she regularly contributes to publications such as The Guardian, The Observer, Crafts Magazine and Dezeen. She is currently exploring the question ‘Can craft save the world?’ through her sixth book, ‘Broken: Mending & Repair in a Throwaway World’ (Ludion, 2023), and podcast, Circular with Katie Treggiden.

Director and Founder | Drawing At Work, the Drawing Gym and Sketchmob

Trevor is Director of Drawing At Work, founder of the Drawing Gym and Sketchmob. An authority on drawing and visual communication, his courses, seminars and events have been adopted by large companies, universities, museums and arts institutions. He is a visiting lecturer at the Design Museum, The Architectural Association, Bath University and Dyson. He is a former Conde Naste Travel illustrator and has illustrated a best-selling cookbook and a book by Richard Curtis about the making of the film Notting Hill.
